Catalog Number GSF101S-1219, 12 x 19 Inch (in) FEP Gas Sample Bags with Nickel Plated HR® ON/OFF Valve with 1/4'' Diameter Barbed Stem & Separate Plastic 1/4" Jaco® Fitting with Fluoropolymer Faced Septum

NICKEL PLATED HR® ON/OFF VALVE WITH 1/4" DIAMETER BARBED STEM AND SEPARATE PLASTIC 1/4" JACO® FITTING WITH FLUOROPOLYMER FACED SEPTUM

You get the features of both the HR® Valve and the Jaco® Fitting on one bag

HR® Features:
  • Nickel Plated to resist damage from most aggressive chemicals
  • 1/4" Barbed Stem for attaching tubing, helps keep tubing in place
  • Leak resistant seal in closed position, prevents sample loss. However, when stem is not closed, sample air passes into the ambient air outside valve
Jaco® Features:
  • Polypropylene molded construction is inexpensive compared to metal fittings
  • Replaceable fluoropolymer faced septum with large area, allows repeated punctures with common lab syringes.
  • Allows reuse of valve by only replacing septum.
  • Option of cap with septum or cap with tubing, allows syringe sample extraction or attachment of tubing by changing caps.
  • Compression ferrule secures tubing onto fitting, which provides a superior grip compared to metal fittings.
  • Standard Jaco® can be used with 1/4" tubing. Jaco® for 1/2" and 3/8" tubing also available.
  • Prices include HR® ON/OFF Valve and Plastic Jaco® fitting for 1/4" OD tubing or septum
  • Use 3/16 ID tubing on barbed stem.
  • Bags with grommets available.
  • Bags with multiple fittings available.
  • Custom sized bags available.

Valve/Fitting Features
  • Compression ferrule secures tubing onto fitting.
  • Polypropylene molded construction.
  • Option of cap for tubing, or cap with septum.
  • Replaceable fluoropolymer faced septum with large area.
  • Nickel Plated
  • Barbed stem for attaching tubing.

Film Key Features
FEP is one of the most chemically inert materials for making gas sampling bags. It works well in extreme temperatures ranging from -400 to 400 ºF; allowing it to be used in most stack sampling conditions. 5 mil FEP film is completely resistant to the most severe corrosives. Much more permeable than Multi-Layer or Tedlar®. FEP bags can be specified for applications involving corrosive gases.

Suggestion
  • Before use, thoroughly flush bags with ultra-pure nitrogen or zero air
  • During sampling, Fluoropolymer tubing and Fluoropolymer faced septums must be used in order to prevent sample loss.
  • Bags should not be filled to more than 80% of their maximum volume.
  • Charcoal (Black) Tedlar® bags should be used when sampling light sensitive compounds
  • Do not store compounds in bags long term due to the possibility that chemicals may adsorb onto the bag surface.
  • Bags should not be used to collect reactive or unstable compounds.
  • When shipping bags, do not air-ship unless the bags are stored in a pressurized area.

Film Properties
  • One of the most chemically inert materials available for making gas sampling bags
  • Maximum operating temperature: 400 ºF
  • Virtually transparent

Film Advantages
  • Works well in extreme temperatures ranging from -400 to 400 ºF; allowing it to be used in all stack sampling conditions
  • Heavier gauge (0.005) film is resistant to most severe corrosives as well as tolerates applications involving rough handling or difficult service conditions
  • Less expensive than PFA

Film Limitations
  • Poor long term storage stability for most VOC's and sulfur compounds
  • Much more permeable than Tedlar®, ALTEF, and Multi-Layer Foil bags
  • More expensive than Tedlar®, ALTEF, Multi-Layer Foil, and TFM bags
  • Lower tensile strength than Tedlar®

Valve/Fitting Benefits
  • Superior grip compared to metal fittings.
  • Inexpensive compared to metal fittings.
  • Allows attachment of tubing or syringe sample extraction by changing caps.
  • Allows repeated punctures with common lab syringes.
  • Allows reuse of valve by only replacing septum.
  • Resists damage from most aggressive chemicals.
  • Helps hold tubing in place.
  • Prevents sample loss in closed position. However, when stem is not closed, sample air passes into ambient air outside valve.
