POLYPROPYLENE SCREW CAP COMBO VALVE WITH REPLACEABLE SEPTUM
  • On/Off valve function with a replaceable septum in a single unit is economical.
  • Lightweight, making it easier to carry in the field and reduces shipping costs.
  • Made of inert polypropylene to ensure purity of sample and non-contamination.
  • Quick, easy opening and closing of valve to save time.
  • Cap stop limits amount cap can be opened to stop leaks from opening cap too far.
  • Visual confirmation that valve is open or closed, prevents accident sample loss.
  • No guessing whether valve is open or closed.
  • Valve Stem is 3/16" OD with tapered outer end for tubing or compression fitting.
  • Replaceable fluoropolymer faced, low bleed septum; allows reuse of valve by replacing inexpensive septum.
  • Designed and Manufactured by Jensen Inert Products specifically for gas sampling applications.
  • Prices include Screw Cap Combo Valve with septum.
  • 3/16" OD stem for use with most 1/4" OD plastic and fluoropolymer tubing.
  • Bags with grommets available.

Valve/Fitting Features

N/A

  • On/off valve function with replaceable septum in a single unit.
  • Lightweight.
  • Made of Inert polypropylene.

  • Designed and manufactured by Jensen Inert Products.

Film Key Features

N/A Tedlar® film has very low gas permeation levels for most compounds, and high tensile strength. Bags resist puncture in the field. 2 mil Tedlar® film is an economical alternative to FEP bags. Tedlar® is much less permeable than FEP and is unaffected by the chemical components of gases generally sampled, like carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, radon and mercaptans. Continuous use temperature from -98 to 400 ºF (temperature limit depends on fittings used). Required for many EPA testing methods.

Suggestion

N/A

  • Before use, thoroughly flush bags with ultra-pure nitrogen or zero air
  • During sampling, Fluoropolymer tubing and Fluoropolymer faced septums must be used in order to prevent sample loss.
  • Bags should not be filled to more than 80% of their maximum volume.
  • Charcoal (Black) Tedlar® bags should be used when sampling light sensitive compounds
  • Do not store compounds in bags long term due to the possibility that chemicals may adsorb onto the bag surface.
  • Bags should not be used to collect reactive or unstable compounds.
  • When shipping bags, do not air-ship unless the bags are stored in a pressurized area.

Film Properties

N/A

  • Low gas permeation levels - Most gases
  • High tensile strength
  • Withstands temperatures up to 400 ºF
  • Unaffected by the chemical components of gases commonly sampled, like carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, radon, and mercaptons
  • Tensile Strength 8000 psi

Film Advantages

N/A

  • Less permeable than FEP, PFA, and TFM
  • Bags resist puncture in the field
  • Less expensive than FEP, PFA, and TFM film
  • Recommended in many EPA testing methods

Film Limitations

N/A

  • Exhibits background levels of DMAC and phenol
  • High permeation rate for CO2
  • Relatively high permeation rate for O2
  • *NOTE: We offer bags specially conditioned to remove DMAC and phenol from Tedlar®

Valve/Fitting Benefits

N/A

  • Economical: Cost savings in manufacturing is passed on to customers. Septum can be changed.
  • Reduces shipping costs. Easier to carry in the field.
  • Ensures purity of sample and non-contamination.
  • Quick, easy opening and closing of valve: saves time. Cap stop leaks from opening cap too far.
  • Prevents accidental sample loss. No guessing whether valve is open or closed.
  • Allows reuse of valve by replacing inexpensive septum.
  • Designed specifically for gas sampling applications.
  • Economical: Cost savings in manufacturing is passed on to customers.
  • Reduces shipping costs. Easier to carry multiple bags into the field.
  • Ensures purity of sample and non contamination.
  • Quick, easy opening and closing of valve (< 1 second).
  • Faster than "twist action" valves.
  • Locked position is easy to verify visually, and prevents accidental sample loss during shipment. Virtually impossible to open or close valve to far.
  • Septum does not come into contact with sample inside bag. Septum allows repeated punctures with syringes without leakage. Ultra low bleed silicone prevents contamination.
  • Designed specifically for gas sampling applications.
