- ALTEF is a proprietary fluoropolymer film developed specially for the air sampling market.
- ALTEF meets or exceeds many of the desired characteristics of Tedlar®.
- Unlike Tedlar®, ALTEF does not exhibit background levels of DMAC and phenol.
- ALTEFexhibits similar stability properties as Tedlar® for a wide variety of compounds, including most VOCs.
- Low VOC and sulfur background levels.
- Contains no additives, fillers or pigments.
- Minimal adsorption.
- Superior storage for organics.
- Abrasion Resistant.
- Before use, thoroughly flush bags with ultra-pure nitrogen or zero air
- During sampling, Fluoropolymer tubing and Fluoropolymer faced septums must be used in order to prevent sample loss.
- Bags should not be filled to more than 80% of their maximum volume.
- Charcoal (Black) Tedlar® bags should be used when sampling light sensitive compounds
- Do not store compounds in bags long term due to the possibility that chemicals may adsorb onto the bag surface.
- Bags should not be used to collect reactive or unstable compounds.
- When shipping bags, do not air-ship unless the bags are stored in a pressurized area.
- Developed specifically for gas sampling applications
- Chemically inert to most acids, aliphatic and aromatic organic compounds, chlorinated solvents, and alcohols
- Maximum operating temp: 260 ºF
- ALTEF bags are made of 0.003" thick film.
- Tensile Strength 6100 psi
- Suitable for sampling most VOCs and many sulfur compounds
- Low VOC background
- Longer sample storage times than most other bag materials
- Does not exhibit background levels of DMAC or phenol, as Tedlar® does
- Lower permeability than Tedlar® to CO2, N2, CH4
- Superior resistance to solvents
- More permeable to most compounds than Tedlar® (0.003" thick versus 0.002" for Tedlar® Bags)
- Not suitable for sampling ketones and esters in high concentrations (>30 %)
- Less resistance to UV light than Tedlar®
- Many sulfur compounds should be analyzed within 24 hours.
- More expensive than Tedlar®
