Valve/Fitting Features
  • Valve is 100% Inert Virgin PTFE
  • All wetted parts are 100% Virgin PTFE
  • Optional Cap with Septum available

Film Key Features
Tedlar® film has very low gas permeation levels for most compounds, and high tensile strength. Bags resist puncture in the field. 2 mil Tedlar® film is an economical alternative to FEP bags. Tedlar® is much less permeable than FEP and is unaffected by the chemical components of gases generally sampled, like carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, radon and mercaptans. Continuous use temperature from -98 to 400 ºF (temperature limit depends on fittings used). Required for many EPA testing methods.

Suggestion
  • Before use, thoroughly flush bags with ultra-pure nitrogen or zero air
  • During sampling, Fluoropolymer tubing and Fluoropolymer faced septums must be used in order to prevent sample loss.
  • Bags should not be filled to more than 80% of their maximum volume.
  • Charcoal (Black) Tedlar® bags should be used when sampling light sensitive compounds
  • Do not store compounds in bags long term due to the possibility that chemicals may adsorb onto the bag surface.
  • Bags should not be used to collect reactive or unstable compounds.
  • When shipping bags, do not air-ship unless the bags are stored in a pressurized area.

Film Properties
  • Low gas permeation levels - Most gases
  • High tensile strength
  • Withstands temperatures up to 400 ºF
  • Unaffected by the chemical components of gases commonly sampled, like carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, radon, and mercaptons
  • Tensile Strength 8000 psi

Film Advantages
  • Less permeable than FEP, PFA, and TFM
  • Bags resist puncture in the field
  • Less expensive than FEP, PFA, and TFM film
  • Recommended in many EPA testing methods

Film Limitations
  • Exhibits background levels of DMAC and phenol
  • High permeation rate for CO2
  • Relatively high permeation rate for O2
  • *NOTE: We offer bags specially conditioned to remove DMAC and phenol from Tedlar®

Valve/Fitting Benefits
  • All wetted parts are 100% Virgin PTFE
  • PTFE Washer placed inside bag film
  • Optional Cap with Replaceable Septum available
